What are jellyfish?
The word jellyfish can name over 200 kinds of animals in the ocean.
The tentacles can reach up to 100 feet.
Jellyfish are related to coral and sea anemones.

How do jellyfish sting?
The sting produced by jellyfish is caused by the poisonous darts released after being alerted or scared.
Some stings can injure you badly or even kill you.
The darts are attached to their tentacles.


What are some of the most dangerous jellyfish?
The sea wasp can kill a PERSON in 20 minutes.
The Lions Mane is the biggest jellyfish in the world and it is also the biggest. The Lions Mane is also called the
Sea Blubber and Pink Jellyfish.

What is a Portuguese man-of-war?
It is not a true jellyfish, it is really a colony of invertabrates.
They work together to survive in the ocean. Each individual has a job to do in the colony.

Our group calls this the haunted football.
